Peter has a great passion for the sport of triathlon and inspires others to begin the sport and to achieve and reach their goals once they're hooked. He has an extensive knowledge of racing and was a triathlon coach for several years. He has raced in eight 70.3 and 140.6 Ironman World Championships and will compete in his ninth this October in Kona, Hawaii. Vice-President Andy Bischoff Bish903@yahoo.com 2015, 2019 1x Ironman (2015), 3x HIM, Fall 50 solo, Over 30 half marathons, 5 marathons, and countless shorter races Long time runner who ran in college at UWGB and started running half and full marathons years later. Started volunteering with myTEAM TRIUMPH in 2012 and was introduced to triathlon at the Door County Tri that year. From that race I knew I needed to get involved as a participant and began preparation for my first tri. Needless to say I love the sport of triathlon and it quickly became my favorite. My wife Katie has graciously supported my training and races over the years. We have two kids (ages 3 and 9 months) that keep us on our toes everyday! I work as a Personal Trainer in the Green Bay area and love to help people with their fitness goals! I'm looking forward to helping GBMS grow so that more people in the area can experience the joy of endurance athletics!
Treasurer Scott Timmons scott_r_timmons@hotmail.com 2022 I'm prepping for my 9th Ironman. I've raced Ironman 140.6 courses in Wisconsin, Louisville, Boulder, and Chattanooga. Coming up is Florida. I passed on the opportunity to compete in the 2023 World Championships in Nice, France. After this year I will have completed 17 full marathons. I'm not sure how many half marathons I've raced. It's easy to lose count. I grew up with a relentless never give up attitude. When I was about 4 or 5, I was pulled lifeless from the bottom of a swimming pool as I wanted to know how to swim, but obviously didn’t at that time. Eventually I learned how to swim and joined a swim team when I was 9 years old. After graduating from high school, one of my swim team teammate’s fathers told me he had competed in an Ironman (in 1985). That was the first time I’d ever heard of Ironman and all it consisted of. I do remember telling him congratulations and I couldn’t even imagine racing in one. Fast forwarding decades later, I toocompeted in my first Ironman. I remember that race day well, especially when on the run I knew I was going to finish it and officially become an Ironman. Ever since then, I’ve found training for and competing in Ironman races is nothing short of addictive!
Secretary Liz Huempfner benlizkyle@gmail.com 2019 Running: 3x full marathons, 17x half marathons, 12x Bellin Run (24 total - walked the event 1994-2005), plus countless local 5k, 10k, and 15k races. *Triathon: Registered for 2021 IMWI Ironman (will be my first!), 2x 70.3 (Steelhead and Chisago Lakes), 2x Olympic distance, and 20+ Sprint distance. I started doing triathlons in 2006 after a friend talked me into it. Fell in love with the sport immediately! After doing sprint triathlons for 10 years, I finally took the plunge and tried an Olympic distance in 2016. Loved it and decided to try a 70.3. Did Steelhead in 2018 (the year with the epic, wavy swim!). Surviving the swim was a huge confidence boost and I knew that a full Ironman was what I wanted next. I am super excited about IMWI in September! I am married to Ben (25 years) and we have one son, Kyle (19 years old). I teach 3rd grade in Oconto Falls and am the Kids For Running coach in the spring for 3rd-5th graders. I love staying active for the health benefits, but also for the camaraderie. I have met so many wonderful people through running, biking, and triathlons and enjoy the lifestyle. It really is a passion and I love talking "shop" with other athletes!
At Large Member Cheri McInnes cheri.mcinnes@yahoo.com 2020 2 half Ironman, 3 Full Ironman, 15 half marathons, 7 full marathons After participating in High School Sports, Cross Country and Track, I contined to run in my 20's. After several years I convinced my non-believer neighbor that running was fun. She joined me one day and I worked her up to a 5k, when SHE convinced ME to participate in my first official race, the Fox Cities 5K in 1999. Placed 1st in my age group! This led to many more races including 10K, 15K, 20K, Relays, half marathons and finally my first full marathon on 10/10/10 in Chicago. I've ran 15 half marathons, 7 full marathons (not including Ironman's). With meeting friends that enjoyed multisport, I was talked into participating in my first Sprint tri in Winneconne in 2015 placing 1st in my AG using my Hybrid bike! From there I decided this is my new sport! Bought my first tribike at the end of 2015 and signed up for my first 70.3 in 2016, did another one month later, and an Oly tri. Continued into 2017. Decided 2018 I'd attempt a Full, Ironman Madison. After running that red carpet and having all the feels that went with it, meeting so many people along my journey, there was no turning back! I've accomplished 7 Half distance and 3 Full Ironmans with #4 in progress! While I love all 3 disciplines, I also love the camaraderie and the new friendships that have came out of it. I enjoy listening to everyone's story, being a support and sharing advice. Outside of triathon I work as a Sr. Sales Operations Specialist at Trilliant, have a supportive Tri Hubby, and 3 Stepsons.
